How? The car has not been launched by BMW yet?

This seems like a really bad idea, firstly laser light is not very good as a light source due to its coherency and secondly coherent light poses the risk of causing permanent eye damage.

It's actually quite interesting how they transform the laser into a viable light source.

I would recon they use three different lasers (red green and blue) and a three colour x-prism to combine the light in order to get white light, as you don't get white laser light.
They probably also have one or more time-varying field homogenisers to destroy the coherency of the lasers......though then technically you can no longer call it laser light, then it is just narrow band light. In this case they probably have one for each colour as the interfence pattern for each with source will be different.
Then there is probably filter(s) or light-tube(s) to correct the light distribution.
Hopefully they managed to dust-proof these lights (unlike the lights on previous models) as dust and lasers are not friends.

BUT... What's with the huge fender gaps? It's as high as a 4x4.. Not cool.. Needs to be slammed.. :cartel:
This particular 730d was running on smaller than usual rims.
They look like 18s yes, but even from the height on the side shot the car is too high for my taste, but this is the standard model too, the M-Sport should look amazing I think!raise:
