as far as i know the standard branches are pretty good its the rest of the system that lets it down...im not going to run forced induction or nos...i just want to make my car more efficient and get a little more power im doing a decat soon then ecu but now im thinking of doing something to my branches also...

Get TNT branches and ceramic coat them, you will get better performance and efficiency. The standard system isnt bad, but its not great.

my thinking is that the standard branches are made to give you even torque over the rev range which is what i want...but if im changing boxes and doing a decat would the standard branches have enough flow? or is flow really only affected by the boxes? i dont trust what sales people say most often they just want to sell you stuff...

Flow rate is affected by the diameter of the pipe as well as the boxes, free flow boxes offer less resistance than your OEM boxes. The stock branches you have on your car are not as good for torque or KWs as aftermarket branches can be. If you are doing your exhaust, you should do the branches too.
