I got Ferodo. Decently priced and good all rounder. Some dust, but apparently not as much as some other brands.

Hey

I had ferodo and honestly i personally dont like it when it heats up and makes noise. And it messed my disks up.

I recently put ATE all around and had no hassles infact i was so impressed decided to pick me up some ATE disks yeasterday.I havent heard my brakes making noise afta ATE.its quite soft on the disk aswell

Dont know if its my driving, but I put Ferodo Ceramics twice on my 525I and the pads lasted about 12000KM both times before the wear sensor lite up again. Swopped to ATE pads and discs and 5000KM later, the pads are hardly worn at all. They do squeal though, but this is because I did not put copper grease on the back of the pads...

The Ferodo also make a shed load of dust IMO...almost as much as OEM.

which ferodo's do you use?

Ferodo Ceramic. As with most drivetrain mods, replacements and upgrades, the question is what YOUR driving style is. If you need the added performance factor, go for the best to ensure your safety. Alternatively if you know you don't redline every gear, then a standard upgrade will do.

I have heard that ferodo pads give great stopping power and durability, but are very hard on the disks, and often eat into them and decrease the life of the disk. But i cant talk from experience with them.

Then again, BMW does 'recommend' that you change the disks together with the pads. This means that if you used ATE (which is the OEM part), then the disk would not even have as much wear as when you used the 'harder' Ferodo pad. So, IMO, life of a disk is not and issue IF YOU GO ACCORDING TO BMW SPEC.
