I recently replaced mine on my E46 I bought the disks and brake pads from Midas I paid R2300 for Pads and disks front and rear, They don’t make any noise and works perfect, (Brand was ATE) Just don’t buy the sensors from them.:fencelook:
Look at this link
http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=37678

whats wrong with their sensors? I had no issues with them.

but Goldwagen has them like R20 cheaper IIRC

Bought sensors from them and not even 30km later the light came back on and they refused to exchange the sensor, faulty stock happens but I think its poor service of them not to exchange

I bought sensors at the local spare shop and I haven't had ne probs. I've about 10k on them so I suppose it was just a bad bunch u got.

*I love my E36!*

After much calling around i'm looking at this:

ATE Brake pads from Midas, R369 (for 2 sets)
ATE Brake Plate from Midas, R843 (for 2)
Labour from a specialist, R400

I need to go to bmw for the sensor, R256,80 (assuming for 2)

I would have gotten all the parts from BMW but their pricing is rather high on what I assume are the same parts.

Please let me know if I have made an error and should go to bmw directly.

I did ask the BMW parts employee on what brand they use, but did not say because its BMW. He then said, dealerships vary and may use ATE

I dont have any problems with the ATE so think you will be fine. Just replace the sensor that was activated. As for the labour you can do it yourself its very easy and there are lots of videos on youtube to show you how but if you really want to take it and get it fitted

Just to follow up, I got really good pricing from Autozone:

ATE:
disk(1)
395
pads
450

Unfortunately I needed power tools to do the job (bolts were to stiff), so after a fail attempt, went to specialists who charged me very competitive pricing on labour.

Sensor was R100

Power tools? You probably needed a cheat pipe and rubber mallet
