Before I bought my 330d I was the proud owner of a little 2.0L Mazda.
Bought it in 1993 and sold it to a very good mate of mine just more than a year and a half ago. Then he need some cash and get rid of his 2nd car and my boet picked it up for a good price. He is now selling both his cars and a bike to buy something else. So....I told him that I will buy it back. It's no BMW, but it will save my car a lot. Maybe it's a bit silly, but I really enjoy this car and the running cost is about zero.

Nice car. Share more specs of the car...!

I understand the feeling of attachment. I had a Toyota Tazz which
was stolen a few years back. Had it from new and it was so reliable and did all the odd runs all over the place. Still miss it because it never had issues of any kind other than normal wear & tear...!

Yes, this is the Gold Top engine. It's a FE3N engine and it is not easy to kill.
The car is on 190 000 km now. I will take some more images after I gave it a good clean. It is in fairly good shape. Two or three rust spots that need some attention now. The car is really like a Go Cart if you compare it to a BMW.

The inside is almost still like new except for the drivers seat. The most amaizing of all is the lack of mechanical noise in such an old engine. if you open the bonnet you can hear the injectors pulsing.

Will update with a few images asap after cleaning. I have some good old memories with this old lady! Can still outrun some of today's cars to tell the truth!

@ Twinz, this is such a low cost car to run. replace the oil and filter every 5-7k and it just keep going. As clutchy is busy redoing my 330d's engine, I thought that this is a good idea to save my 330. Our roads are in such a bad shape that my wife's 320i's suspension need some attention as well now. Will use it mainly in town and if I need to go on a bad road somwhere.

Thanks guy's, it's not as fast as the later model cars but it's still in a class of it's own. Years ogo traveling between Fort Beaufort and P.E. you picked up other cars and push these little cars to the limit. They just go on and on without a day's problem. It is sort of a handfull in the wet sometimes in a 2nd gear corner. Understeers like crazy. I use to setup the allignment on the rears closer to 0 deg to have more response, a bit of a female dog in a straight line then. Good old days!!! Love them.

Those 2.0lt mazdas go like a stabbed rat!
Couldn't have put it better!
Manny Marino and Louis Lima set their best records with these motors, bullet proof!!!

Can relate, used to drive a bottle green one back in the day and it does not take much to light up the tyres, steering is responsive and stock standard it is a good looking car IMHO.

Hope she gives you many more Adrenalin filled k's:thumbs:

My dad had 4 of these. Got a new one each year. They are brilliant reliable cars. Just dont leave it unattended. It might get "lost".
Please just get rid of those horrid spotlights.

The EGI was an 8V 2.0 motor. Indestructible, but a donkey.
This (200i) is the one to have since it has the 16V motor.
