BMWFANATICS GP: NEXT #100 CENTENARY CELEBRATION & LOGO

As we all know...2016 marks the new 100th Anniversary of the inception of one of the Biggest, most loved brands in the world...BMW


In an effort to Celebrate this momentus occasion, the various BMW Clubs from all over South Africa are joining together to host the #Next100 centenary celebration on August the 20th 2016.


BMWFanatics, BMW Car Club Gauteng, Car Candy Inc, SA Beemer and the BMW Bike Club  SA are all partnering to bring one massive event together at Red  Star Raceway on the Day. There will be a host of activities ranging from the chance to track your car for the day, to just paying and doing 2 hotlaps for those who want to share in the experience.

We will be forming an Image of the outline of AFRICA,  with 100 in the center on the day as well. This will be formed by the cars attending the event.  There will be park offs where the one can appreciate the various models that BMW has offered to us enthusiasts over the years. We are truly hoping to make this event massive and to bring together everyone from all over the province to join in on the fun.

Below are all the details for the day, as well pricing for those who want to use this opportunity to track their cars. 

We will begin with a list of those who want to track and those who are attending just to join in for the social calender and to enjoy the day with us.

A third list will also be made for guys attending that have white cars. The 100 will be formed in the center will be made up of white BMWs only so that the number stands out when the aerial photographs will be done. If you 100% attending with your white cab , please add your name to that list as well.

BMW Fanatics will also be trying to get together an epic display of out members cars ranging with models from the early years to the latest modern. A similiar setup which was used at BMW Day will be adopted with us parking our cars according to year and series. We hope to see you all there.

Closer to the time, we will begin mapping out routes and POSSIBLE convoys to the venue.

Scrutinising starts : 6.30am
Racing session : 8am - 11am & 1pm - 5pm
Africa Logo formation : 11am- 1pm

"BMW CC have proposed to go not only with the Africa 100 logo photo (with a set size and number of cars and bikes as it will not be possible to enlarge or reduce depending on a surprise number of arrivals on the day), but to also do a pre registered car parade.

On the website the person can pre-register for free their car with their full name and surname, ID number and car registrations as well as if they are representing BMW Car Club Gauteng, BMW Fanatics, SA Beemer or Car Candy Inc. The parade will be led by the 3 BMW Driver Training cars who will lead the 1st gear walking speed procession from the pits to the start finish line and then do a full lap in formation and exit the track. Pre registration will be free.

There will be a registration table set up where the guys bring their printed pre-registration confirmation and get a specific sticker without which they will not be allowed. The view was that we only allow pre-registrations which also gives an indication of commitment to the event and helps for catering purposes.

There are that we add a second registration table for those who didn't pre register and they must pay R50 if they want to take part because they didn't pre-register which makes admin on the day a nightmare - we do the same for our track days where late registrations pay an additional fee and go to the back of the queue to give way for pre registrations.

We will start the parade at the same time as the Africa 100 logo. As soon as the Africa 100 logo is done, the car guys in the Africa 100 logo can join the procession to add to the numbers as it will take some time to get all (hopefully 1000) cars on the track through the one pit entry. "

Okay basically this is what we as the events committee are going to focus on for BMWFanatics members as well as the layout of events taking place on the day.

Our primary focus is to setup a Display of BMWs with cars across the range and series. Ie..we want to have at least one car from every shape in the 3 series , e30 to f30. We want them parked according to their respective time lines. We've done before and we wanna do it again. But it can only be done with the help of Fanatics and their obviously their cars. Hence we appealing for you guy to come through for the social at least.

We've been discussing amongst the coordinators, and we think it will be lukker chilled event if we could all get some Gas braais and braai close to the display and shoot the crap...call Braai & BMWs if you will. One lukker big circle and we very one can mingle and talk about the brand we love the most.

Secondly....there between 11 and 1pm, the track will closed and all the clubs will be focusing on forming the LOGO which entails the outline of the AFRICAN continent with the number 100 in the center. If we had put an image in your head, picture the ENCA African logo with its straight lines. This will be made up of all cars and bikes but we aiming for the 100 to be made up of white cars only. Their will be photos being taken by resident photographers , enthusiasts and drone photographers as well.

Really guys...it's a chance to be be apart of something we won't be celebrating again in our lives. It's not a track day, it's not a concourse day, it's not a display of just our cars...

It's mass of people gathering from across the Gauteng province, from all walks of life, irrespective of race, religion and colour who are gathering to celebrate something we share a common passion for...BMW.

So choose your poison for the day...be it chilling out with like minded individuals, tracking your car or coming to be apart of the epic logo planned. Bring the family and kids along as well. Let make this a memorable day.
