BMWCCG are hosting a track day at Midvaal on the 3rd of June for the first time in many years. The track will be run anti-clockwise. Who's going?

Why don't GP Fanatics make an official attendance out of this to celebrate the Forum's 8th birthday?

Going with a few other fanatics on friday to check out the track. :fencelook:

If the track is still what I remember it to be, you'll be less than impressed. Hope they get it sorted soon..

They have been cleaning up the track and repairing a few things. There is a "Revive Midvaal" thing happening!

Remember you need an MSA licence either for the day or yearly one and you need to be a club member otherwise it's an additional R350 to join the club

String finger fries?

So R 1350, 00 total, thanks Bernie

The track is not that bad I was there with the KTM South Africa, but is not at the same level as the Z or RS. It is a fun track though.

Had my first Midvaal experience today with some fellow fanatics.
Some bumpy uneven resurfacing on the exit of turn one and particularly the straight from turn 3 to turn 4 is bumpy, lastly the apex of turn 4 is bumpy/uneven. Rest of the track is ok, back straight I was topping out 170km/h before the braking point.

Huge thanks to Sankekur, Fordkoppie and Hitman for the invitation to check out the track with them, had a blast! Need to do it more often. Pity about the bumps killing my engine mount but that gave me the excuse to ride shotgun for a couple laps with Fordkoppie in the red 325i on stale street tyres, that man can drive!

Makes me want to get back into drifting.

It was an awesome day, and the track was really quiet. Only a Volvo C30 T5, an old Ford Cortina mk1, and a heavily modified MR2. Was great fun and got to use my RE-55s Bridgestones that are almost 7 years old. My tyres hardly got to 60 degrees C in 20 mins. The front brakes 260 degrees C and the rears not even 180 degrees C.
