A1exander and I are busy trying to find a solution. Depending on what year, it seems there was a slightly different design and the replacement bushes you can buy online. Can't usable as you can't access the old bushes.
Just have then made in the softest poly they can do. Will you really feel that much more vibration coming through? Considering you have a layer of foam under you. But even if you so feel the road more. Then thats bettet
If you saw there the bushes are located. It has very little to do with vibrations coming from the chassis. It's just to keep it in place between two tabs from sliding backwards/forwards.
thanks guys will look into it :clapper: .My Car is a 97 model ... from what i read up ... it seems to be quite a job to get to the bushes .... Maybe an upholester will probably help out .
I bought a sheet of poly something or other and cut out the shapes, then I rubbed my fingers raw sanding them down to within microns of the required thickness. You need to do this even with the bought ones as ever seat has slightly different tolerances.
Maybe someone could find a material with some more give than plastic. But it all works very well.
PS. It is real PT getting the seats out the coupe... easier with the pop top.
The early models are easy relatively speaking.
The later models have different rails which were re designed to eliminate the wearing of the bush.
The early models can be slid apart and the later models seem to be locked in place.
I have stripped the seat from the s54 Z3M as well as ours and there is no way the rails can be separated.
I have spoken to the yanks and they have promised me the procedure (after having sent me the old procedure for the older type) and will share with you as soon as I do ours and Mike's.
