BMW X5

I'm looking to purchase either a Used 2008 upwards BMW X5 or a Audi Q5 in Diesel. I've seen a few but not sure whether I should pay less and get one outside the motorplan, or should I get 1 with about 1 year left on the motorplan. Any feedback from X5 owners if the car is reliable outside motorplan...What is your opinion regarding the Audi Q5 as well?

We have an xdrive35d M-Sport with 50,000kms, it's out of Motorplan since it was exported from SA. Hasn't given us any issues thus far, it's a great performer.

I have a 2007 X5 4.8i with 140000km, out of plan. It had no maintenance issues other than normal service requirements after MP expired.

How is the Diesel BMW's, what's the maintenance costs, What can I expect to pay for services, and how often is a service required?
I'm not looking at Petrol as the cosumption for Petrol is a bit high, but it's good to know that they don't give issues as the milleage climbs...

The diesels are very reliable :thumbs:

As for costs I can't chip in, we bring in servicing kits from SA every 8,000kms or so because parts aren't available locally..so it's generally costly.
