I think I should raise the price for my 2006 X5 3.0d from R195000 to R250000

Maybe it will sell faster :joy:

Common issue with the 4.8is was the air suspension, seen plenty sitting lob sided.

You mean self leveling rear suspension?
Many times wrongly replaced but the fault was only a R30 fuse for the pump

Happened to me at above X5 3.0d with such a self leveling rear suspesion.... was quoted R80k by some independant shops and brought it to SMG for the fix
What a surprise when I was called to pick up the car sooner than expected..... invoice amount: R350 for testing resetting the ride height and a fuse!!!

:joy:

I think it was air suspension, I could be wrong though. There is a switch on the right hand side of the steering wheel, above the light switches (I think) where you can choose 3 settings for the ride height. Maybe it was just an option.

One of the X5s that I saw had completely collapsed, like the old landy discos.

Had a message displayed on my 2002 E53 that the "Self levelling suspension inactive". Took it to the dealer and the firt thing they did was to check the fuse in the rear. Fuse was blown. They sold me one for R15 and problem sorted

ive had mine for just over 6 months now. use it almost daily, and have done two mild off road trips with it. the car is has never skipped a single beat, and ive found the self levelling suspension (both front and rear) not to be as sensitive as people make it out to be.
was quoted about R6500 for an inspection 2 service.

the only Problem with the is FUEL!! [size=medium] EXTREMELY THIRSTY
