Hows it guys...
Been a while. Hope the new yr is good for us all.
I did a little mod on my X5 x35i 2010 model, after checking out a X5 forum on the net.
Basically bought the 3.0d air inlet and tried moding the oem x35i into the filter box with no luck..
Anyway, mine was shoelaced on the bottom. Bought a 100mm silicon pipe to join the 2. Pity no 1 sells 23deg bends, unless I'm wrong.
I would think it would work well on the open road and high speed... IMG_20220208_185501.jpgIMG_20220208_190420.jpg

Looks a bit odd, maybe try using one of the OEM pipes to airbox, looking at some pics from the net, looks like you should be able to find one.
Doubt it will make any difference because of forced induction, if it were normal aspirated engine different story yes. Engine bay is crying for some cleaning too, you removed the engine covers ?

Hz it. Tried modifying the oem pipe to fit but no luck at all. That's y the silicon pipe, except I couldn't get the 23deg bend.
Yes engine covers are off.
I needed to replace tappet Cover gasket.
