GOEIE MOER! I love seeing stuff like this! That looked so damn good man! Makes me want to do something similar. And then that amp and sub.... Looks amazing. Can't find a place that sells phoenix gold amps anymore, maybe I'm searching like my ass. Luckily I still have my amp, but it's just a bit large.

Thanks for the Orion link as well. They look good, haven't heard of the brand before tho.

I'm a bit confused at the moment. Read that the plug and play kits are only made for the base audio packages. So not sure why. And I'm not even sure now what my car has. I have no tweeters in the back nor the rear, so pretty sure that's base... But then I have the professional head unit. Not sure if that includes an amp.

Just some extra info I stumbled upon, but I take it with a pinch of salt. One guy mentions his 4in focals were too small and had to fit adapter plates.... Again not taking it too seriously but maybe someone has more info? When they say that some modification will be required, I'm assuming that they mean both the door panel and speaker itself would require some modification? http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314831

Hey all - hope everyone is doing great and amped for the long weekend ! Just an update regarding the tweeter pods for the bmw e82 and upgrade solutions.

I phoned the dealership to get quotes:

Tweeter pod - R950.00 (note I said poD :O)

An Alpine retrofit kit - which is pretty basic - amp, two mids and two tweeters along with an inline crossover ---- R9000.00 (including installation....)


****And by some miracle ----- the sound is pretty damn awesome in my car all of a sudden, so need to upgrade lol. Thanks for all the inputs.

yeah the coupe pods are lil bit more than the sedans...:cartel:

The alpine retrofit kit makes the aftermarket drop in kit look like a bargain:thumbs:

I am busy putting together a kit to upgrade the E82/E90/E92 front stage very soon. Will keep you guys updated.

Definitely something much needed aside from the rather expensive options.
