BMW Poor Service

Guys and girls, we can not complain about poor service received from BMW SA and their dealer network if we are not prepared to do something about it.

Over the next few months I am going to spent a small fortune on advertisement fees to promote awareness against BMW poor service. The way you guys can help is to please post on the following facebook website wall and I will create a TAB with the stories.

I read the car magazine yesterday and was not surprised to see that BMW is rated second for complains submitted.

In all fairness positive stories will be welcome as well and I will post it also.

Again, I need 25 posts to reserve the proper facebook address so please help me out here..;)

Those two words "BMW" and "Poor service" should get married seeing as they are in love with each other these days.

You go for it, it's about time we speak out.

I too had one O2 sensor damaged by the dealer on removing the exhaust and then they mixed the L/R sensors up on reassembly. I mean how fsking hard can left/right be? I know the connectors are the same but if a mechanic had even half a brain cell he would label it upon dissasembly.

Morons, I took it back twice and they couldn't find their error. After that I climbed under the car and worked it out myself by measuring where the L/R wires enter the ECU.

You guys and even BMW must understand that I do not have anything against the product, in fact, when I read about the new M5 in the CAR magazine this month I started to plan my budget, I really want this car..;)

I have read a post on another forum where one of the guys suggested that we lease cars from BMW as this will not influence us with various factors.

Are any of you guys leasing a BMW and what are the pros and cons in our SA setup?

cant complain much about the service i have recieved from BMW.

I always got top notch service from Club Motors Fountains.
I once got a puncture while i was in Venda ( Thohoyandou) , it was on Sunday. So i took a phone and called BMW , they offered me a tyre for 24hrs. That was a brilliant service considering that run-flats tyres in my place are scarce. Can only get them at Polokwane which is far away rom Thohoyandou.

BMW FTW

Thanks Venda Boy for the input, I have read a few other threads with good words for Club Motors Fountains, wish I knew this while my car was still under motor plan.

In my opinion BMW SA MUST investigate complains against poor service and also investigate compliments for a dealer. In case of poor service delivered by a dealer BMW SA should penalize and in worse case educate the sub standard dealers, this make sense to me...;) In the same way good dealers should be rewarded for service rendered to us as customers.

In my last letter to the CEO (which I do not know if he got to read it because I was answered by somebody who I rather do not want to comment on here) I wrote the following:

I realize I do not have the complete picture of operation of a major motor manufacturing concern and their daily operations but I as an individual feel that BMW could learn from lessons of the past and improve their record of service to clients.

Let me give another example of my latest dealings with BMW SA. After my letter in which I complained about another bad experience from a dealer I was phoned by "somebody" for a customer survey. It is remarkable how the person on the other side of the line goes into shock if she asked if I was happy with the service and I said very clearly I was not happy at all... It seems as if they do not get trained to handle negative feedback... Like I said, I am no corporate man, but I can see a lot of areas for improvement. Funny thing is that during the phone call and even the letter received from BMW SA I was promised feedback regarding my complains, well needless to say NO feedback as to date.

It is this complete lack of acknowledgement that a dealer can really deliver poor service, the lack of acknowledgement that I as a BMW owner was not happy with service received that I can not handle or accept.

It is beyond my understanding that BMW SA does not protect their own interest.... enough said for now..;)

BTW thanks for all the guys who put a LIKE on the facebook page..;)

Thanks for the input Mike. I have tried to put both sides of the story on the web page, and yes BMW does investigate but in my experience nothing comes of it, one of the examples I posted here is that if I was phoned after a service/repair and I responded negatively nothing comes of it? Nobody phone back and ask why I was not happy, nobody phone or contact me and said the matter was investigated and I was the arsehole because I did not do this or that or whatever... Or even better the dealer was contacted and the dealer apologize and promise to do better next time or whatever... Like I said, both sides of the coin, I am not trying to say I was never wrong in any of this complains, but in my opinion BMW SA never tried to get behind the cause of the complain in the first place.

I am really trying to put the point forward that I am not negative about BMW products, I just want better service from the company, maybe I fail to write this clearly enough?

12 more like please guys...:) If we can get BMW SA to respond positively on complains I believe it will provide better service for all BMW owners so it is in our own interest to get some reaction.

Cheers
