Not sure of a place in Obs. Zeemax used to be in Paarden Eiland but they moved. You can maybe try Mech5 in CBD.

Sorry to de-rail the thread guys

Garage 808 had a misfortune of a break-inn last week...:thumbdo:

They lost some tools & diagnostic equipment

At least they up and running again....

Made a turn there this morning

M1 Auto in Kenilworth, and Brilliant Mechancial Workshop in Maitland.

BMW won't charge you much more if it's just an oil service, so consider that option too.

It is very unfortunate, but they will be back in full swing soon.

They even took the time to call be the morning of the break in to inform me that there will be a delay in a quote I asked for.

That is a fantastic level of customer service.

Brilliant mechanical workshop in maitland? As far as I know mech1 auto and brilliant mechanical workshop are the same shop on garfield road... anyway they're a great bunch of people whom have given me great service even when we run into small problems they always remedy the situation.

I'm with Dieselfan on this, awesome service, my car is actually booked in for an inspection 2 service there this week.

I did an oil service at SMG last year and they charged my R600, so they an option as well

R600 with a filter change? I would be skeptical at that price. Going by dealer price. Half an hour labour is already 400...

At brilliant I pay half an hour labour R200 my own filter from bmw R200 and 5l oil R400 and engine flush R70...

SMG Century City charged me less than that because I supplied my own oil.

The two owners split. Ralf (M1 Auto) stayed in Garfield road, and Bruce (Bruce's/Brilliant Mechanical Workshop) moved to Maitland.

Both appear to have very strong operations going, so I can't see you going wrong with either.

Funny thing is though Anton is they do do services and stuff I just don't know where. Don't know if I'd trust them with my lawnmower

It's true. I had an oil change done there as well. My invoice shows:

Engine oil: 286.65
Windscreen additive 10.25
Oil filter 90.04
Labour 122.35

Total including vat 580.59

not a workshop., but a scrapyard / salvage yard.

so maitland not an option.

They started as a scrap yard but have opened a workshop in the same space.

I was there the other day and they've got a pretty decent operation going. Just as big as the current Kenilworth one, so both are good options depending on your location.

hang on. these are 2 totally unrelated businesses. yes the 2 owners once ran a joint company (i.e old bruces) but that has not been for years. right now, these are 2 totally seperate businesses. no relation at all.
