BMW M3 CSL

Hey guys I would like some advise on the M3 CSL. Want to know how many were brought out to South Africa.
I have found three that are up for sale and there year models are 2004 and 2005. All of them end with 65. So in turn I would take it that there were 65. ( Stand to be corrected.) The problem is that the two of them are the are four numbers apart. eg. one them is #70 and the other is #74. The one that is number #70 is 2005 and the #74 is a 2004. So how do I find out if it a true 2005 and made in 2004 but registered in 2005. Cause this happened to me with my M3 E92 which I MISS  big time. I do have the VIN number for it.
Then what is a fair price to pay on them. There kilos between the two are 40k difference between them.

THANKS.

They were all manufactured in 2004, but some were sold in 2005 and even 2006.

EDIT: Correction, AdiS is correct, all manufactured in 2003 and 2004. And SA only got 65.

They were all built in 2003. Some would have been registered later than others, and not necessarily in the order of the build number. So for example no 40 out of 65 could be a 2004 and no. 30 out of 65 could be a 2005. Just depends on when the car was first registered.

go to this site and put in the VIN no.

www.realoem.com

Will tell you exactly when the car was produced then check with BMW,they will be able to tell you date of first registration or just ask them when motorplan expired or supposed to expire then work backwards 5 years in the case it was not extended, that should tell you when vehicle was registered.

Be careful when insuring a car like this, the last thing you would want is there to be a discrepancy, and your claim revoked, based on not accurate items,

also with this, there will be a difference in Book Value between the registered date and the manufacturing date, that's a 2 year space, also a difference in instalment for insurance,

just be careful.... these insurance guys are a bunch of tossers...

I would say that the condition and mileage of a particular CSL has far more to do with the market value than what book value says. I would take this into consideration when insuring it.
