Tickets were sold out when I checked online but asked the local bmw I support if they could assist and they made a plan with some tickets 😀. Am taking my son, but I just saw the T&C, and because he is uber 12, they won’t allow him in any of the driven car experiences so we will watch and drool. The venue though seems very small so not sure how it will be setup. Let see.

Yeah is aw the venue is Tiny, so lets see how they set it up and what they can do there.
Hopefully worth the drive to Midrand

It was an awesome Morning.
Very well organized

Highlite for me was being taken around on the Gymkana in a new 550i X drive, which got surprisingly tail happy even though being an X drive.
M2 cs is a stunning car.

I attended on Saturday (received complimentary tickets from the dealership :p)

Was really a great event, very limited people, no queues to jump into the cars for the drag races, they where actually calling people to jump in.

Went for the drag race in the M3 competition, M2 and the X3M (was very surprised by this car, a lot quicker then i thought it would be)

Did the spin session in the M3 as well (y)

Also attended the launch even of the M4 convertible and the M5cs (Damn, if money was no object)

Am I the only one that doesn't see much value in these "let me take you for a drive in this car" events?
I would agree with you but for the cost of the tickets I don't think its that bad. Its cheaper than lasertag, trampolining, gocarting, etc. whatever other activities bring you joy.

The opportunities presented at these types of events takes alot of the uneasiness and trepidation out of the equation for many of us who perhaps feel intimidated to walk into a showroom and ask for a test drive in a super saloon or sports car.
Not to even mention that at some showrooms, the sales people merely look at you and dismiss both your presence and your buying power by just looking at you (i.e. not dressed appropriately, wrong race, pulled up in a CitiGolf, etc. etc.).

SO IMO THERE IS A DEFINITE PLACE FOR THESE TYPES OF EVENTS AT THIS PRICE POINT!

I thought it was a cool experience too but I was disappointed after expecting something similar to the JHB event .... which it was definitely not!

The drags and gymkhana being held in a basement parking was definitely not ideal and clearly a 20 sec thrill ride can only be so exciting irrespective of the vehicle you are in!!

Gymkhana was so disappointing....No drifts....Event the drivers felt the Underground thing did not work as it was way to short

Are you referring to the M-Fest in 2019? Having got to drive 3 M-Cars on the small track made it totally worthwhile.
