Just had a colleague tell me that there will be 500 F30 units produced with the following:

Pricing

•BMW 3 Series Sedan M Performance Edition Content: R50, 000 and R65, 000 if specified with exclusive metallic paints (Price of M Performance Edition content if fitted at dealership is R 87,000).
•20” BMW M Performance light alloy wheel Double-spoke 405M: R43,900
•M Performance Top Stripes: R2,895
•M Performance Exhaust System: R11,755
•M Performance Power Kit: R15,670

PLEASE DONT FALL FOR THIS as its not that ltd, is it now?
What they should have done is added the following
M Performance suspension
M Performance chasis
M Performance LED steering wheel
M Performance seats

...and im sure they will add a brass plaque showing its batch number.

REALL!!!!!!!:thumbdo:

Yep! This is definitely for the yuppies who aspire to an ///M car, but without the hole it burns in the wallet.

I normally don't like these kits. They tend to look tacky on cars that aren't the real deal.

As for the zorst, isn't that synthesized on ///M cars these days? Oh ya, how many ponies does the "M Performance Power Kit" kit add... is it even worth the asking price?

Im not saying that the M Performance parts arent worth fitting.
Im just angry that BMW SA manipulate the market and use products already being sold as a retrofit kit and parcel it up into a package, then add ltd edition and only 500 units.............and evryone thinks its an extra special beemer...NO No

They did the same with the e92 in 2012 - some fancy paint, black gloss tail pipes and wheels and it became ltd.

VW idid this with the Golf 1 - Citi -CTI and then I left but I heard about a lite and a whole manner of other sticker models
Opel did it with the Kadett -
Mazda with the Sting
Ford witht laser true blue

DO THEY THINK WE ARE THAT GULLABLE!!!...............OR ARE WE?

I have the kit, got it a year ago.

I wouldn't say it's "tacky" they actually do serve a purpose, have a look at our Production Cars racing series, the 335s have the kits fitted.

It is overpriced if I compare to what I paid, I think possibly the only benefit if it's registered with those options, maybe the resale value will be slightly better!!

The downside of the matter is that these are the only aftermarket options currently available.

I like the fact that BMW is giving owners the option to modify their cars with approved parts. I dont for one moment think I am making an M3 or whatever but still like the look of the kit. Maybe I am a "yuppie"

Saw two M Performance F30's at Cedar Isle Auto on Saturday. They look hot IMO. The M Performance sticker costs +/-R1500 according to the sales person.

Call me selfish but I would have preferred these kits to be available for certain models only - to create some "uniqueness" between models

It's not a kit in the traditional sense.
It's superbly manufactured splitters spoilers aprons mirror caps and side extensions in excellent quality CF.
I call them m performance " parts " .......which are being replicated as we speak .

Therefore , my initial point- give something special to the customer - chassis suspension brakes alcantara interiors with some recaro CS seats.... Now that's a ltd edition BMW

50 Units of what.... This
The car is fitted with replica parts which looks like BMWSAs special edition

And for wheels, here are the M reps too
So how can their ltd edition be ltd.

It's as ltd edition and unique as an egg

You got me there.
It just seems a shame that I've paid £32k for an f30 , then go for a£4500k option, which joe blogs pays £800 for and sticks it on a 2012 model .....and his looks exaccary like my ltd edition 500.there will be thousands on the roads once replicated parts become a bit more affordable.

BMW have tactfully excluded the expensive M performance catalogue parts (suspension , seats, steering and chassis )and that's bugging me
