Hi everyone,
I've been a bit of a lurker on these forums. I've been fiddling and fixing my and friends Beemers for ages, theres nothing like the handling of sports pack
. I've had a 36 with m43b18 engine, and my current e90 with a n46b20. My mate has an n54, and we love working on it to keep it all in top shape !
My first car was a hand-down e36 when i started uni, it had tons of problems, and it was then that i decided to blow some bank on tools and get it running properly again, put some good sound in there and honestly, the most fun I remember having going around corners at night haha. Later i got ahold of a beat up e90, lots of random issues, but the engine looked super clean inside. So I embarked on a new adventure to get it juicy again, and I gotta say, I love the way it sounds and goes, yeah its not a beast 6cyl, but the pedigree and fun is there =D .
For me, there is so much more reward in the drive, knowing that I had a hand in bringing the car to its current state, a bit of a bonding experience that just buying a new car cannot give. I've rebuilt part of the top end of the engine, and redone the entire rear suspension and drive train (not fun at all with jack stands, added various modules like bluetooth and the cd changer and a DSC replacement as well.
I have learned and discovered many things in my car fiddling times, and I have become fairly proficient in BMW's oldschool tools for flashing, coding and diagnostics, and may be able to help out here with the things I have discovered.
