were you watching the same video as me? the 1m had no problems keeping up and often had to take his foot off the pedal. yes the 1m was modded to around 300kw so i would think the new m3 should leave it in the distance which it didnt. did bmw say they wanted to compete with amg and gtr? i think not on that showing.

Was also wondering why the M3 cars are labelled F8x and the other 3 series are labelled F3x.

"F30/F31/F32/F33/F34/F35/F36 are the regular AG-Models (incl.M Performance cars.)

F80/F82/F83/F86 are the special M-GmbH models.

Main reason for the different label is ... the F8x body is totally different from the F3x body in material terms - the F3x body is made of steel and the F8x body is made of an combination from high-strength steel and carbon composites."

To me it seems the 1M was struggling. He could not even get close enough for a proper view.

Cant wait for the new incarnation of the M3 so i can get over my disapointment with the current M models including the new overweight M5

agree that he didnt catch the m3 very quickly but the m3 never ran away. look at the 4:00 to 4:12 (that run open road when the 1m was close enough to the m3) the 1m was definitely quicker. then 4:28 the m3 goes first and the 1m reels it in? like i said maybe i am watching a different video to you guys.

to me it looked like the M3 was holding back quite a bit... some sections on the clip when the M3 seems to open up it destroys the 1M...
