Hey guys,
Just got home after what I can only call an epic day.
Received an invite from Leo Haese Centurion to attend a driving experience track day at Swartkops Raceway... Luckily I was off and managed to secure a spot for the Mrs as well.
I've never been on a track or skid pan before, so I couldn't help but smile through the entire day.
First up was the skid pan in the formidable M135i.
Man o Man, I love this car. It's power, handling and tone exceeded all of my expectations. And hows this... Yours truly posted the fastest time of the day around the cones. We were all afforded just one lap. And then the top 4 competed head to head. We had 30 some odd in our group with a total of 4 groups for the day. I could seriously do that sorta thing all day long. Wish I could explain that feeling if coming 1st.... All I know is that I had this smile from ear to ear all day.
Next up, we got to take 3 different 3 series models around the track while being led with an instructor in a M135. A little bit of an anti climax having a 316i, 320i and 320d... But nevertheless, an enjoyable experience.
Last up, the instructor take 3 passengers at a time for 2 hot laps around the track.
F*@k Me... Those guys drive the hell out of those cars. Once again, speed power and handling is epic, even more so when you are going sideways.
Finally I was awarded a little BMW umbrella for my efforts.
Can't wait to do this kinda thing again
