Just a quick note - your rims are 9j (your limitations) - so you are not going to go much wider until the tire starts to balloon rather than spread out.
Another thing - the wider you go on the front the worse the turning in will become and you will run the risk of touching bodywork, especially if you have lowered the car.
the tires/wheel are they not flush at the moment ? if you add spacers it will push the wheels out ! and if you do that, unless you flare the body panels they will touch over the slightest bump.

Thank you Mike r for that insight . just to clear i currently run 225/40/18 in front with 7.5 or 8j wheels. and 255/35/18 rear with 8.5j wheels . car is lowered and flush . current offset calc is front et44 and rear e47.(these are of course with spacers) car does not touch nor rub with or without passengers . turning circle is fine .
i want to run 9j in front and 9j in rear . i have seen 9j work in front .See picture below is 9j and 10j rear - fronts 215/35/19 and rear 245/30/19 . et 47mm+5 spacer = 42mm and rear et45 .
my question is . with my set up can i run a 215 tire on a 9j wheel . is this what guys call a stretch and will this be feasible for a daily runner ? i am understanding that 225/35/19 will be appropriate for a 9j wheel up front with et 48+5mm spacer . and rear 245/30/19 or 255//30/19 with 9j wheel and et 48 .
will these rolling diameters be the exact same the 18 inch set up ? i do know that i probably will have to roll fenders slightly to accommodate the 9 j wheel .i should be fine if offsets are within or close to oem spec right ?
