Bmw E46 Electric Fan

[font=Calibri, sans-serif]My electric fan is giving some issues so I wanted to replace it with another used one I bought from someone. My fan when It’s time to kick in do not properly engage and cool the engine. The fan kind of struggle to turn and seems to run bit by bit and not like it should turning full circle (Apparently my friend check it out and says my Fan bearings is on its way out). So when I buy this other fan in the meantime so I can be mobile till I get my bonus to pay for a new one. I discover there is a different between the two electric fans. My one do not have a box type thing on the fan while the other have one. Please refer to the pics included.[/font]

[font=Calibri, sans-serif]I am worried now. If I put this other fan in I would make some things worse and this after spending a lot on fitting a new import motor. I want to be mobile this the reason for the used fan and will buy a new fan soon as I get my bonus.[/font]

Not gon lie, but even the shrouding looks different, are you sure you have the right fan for your car ? check the part number of the used fan against your car on realoem.com

I would suggest you start there.

What car (chassis+engine combo) do you have ? and what did the fan come off ?

Bmw e46 330i sedan. I think the fan is coming from a 325ti compact. I just need the fan the shroud can be replace with mine. Everything is the same except that small box on the other one.
