BMW E36 X-Brace

Has anyone installed an X-Brace to the front of their Bmers suspension? If so what is the difference in handling/stability?

They are found on E36 cabriolets...I have fitted one to my saloon and the difference is far far better than putting on a strut brace.Handling is very much improved-its like its on rails :) .....Only draw back is that you can only lower your car so much and it starts scraping on the road...speed humps are a nightmare :cursin:

Yep its a nice cheap upgrade. It made a noticeable difference, but not a massive difference. I guess its also go to do with the age of your car and the amount of flex that's taking place in the chassis. Either way, good upgrade, get one, it also protects your oil pan.

Yeah my search at the scrapyards havent been successfull, did you get one of a Z3 or E36. From what I've read the Z3 brace needs a bit a tweaking...

Z3 one should be the same cause the E36 and Z3 share the same front suspension...There are retrofit guides available-I will post one up when I get back from work this evening
