BMW e36 ABS light

Hi there i have a small issue with my car's ABS light, whilst driving and lightly tapping the brake pedal it seems as if the abs is kicking back on the pedal, and immediately after that the ABS light comes on.

If i switch it of and back on the light goes dead and i can drive for kilometers before it reoccurs.

Sometimes on start up the light stays on and i have to restart the car.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

have you checked your brake fluid? when was the last time you bled them? visual inspection of your discs and pads? tyre pressure all ok?

If one of your wheel speed sensors are bad it'll come up during diagnostics. Try testing the two abs relays for proper operation aswell

Pull the relay out. Go to ur battery. Connect power to pin 85 and pin 86 on the relay. With power across these terminals, look for continuity between pins 30 and 87a/87b. The circuit diagram should be on the side of the relay itself.

Edit: using a multimeter look for continuity between pins 30 and 87a/87b
