Hey guys. Im still new to this site. I've recently bought me a e30 320 shadowline it is in need of some TLC. I've started buying parts to restore it and also put some custom parts on it... i even made my own wooden gear knob to fit my hand perfectly. Im also busy doing research on a 2jz conversion. And if there are anyone that can give some pointers or point out the do's and the dont's

Hey man and Welcome to the forum... Congrats and it will be sweet to see a 2j conversion on the car.

I think what was meant above was this is possibly not a shadowline... You have to excuse some members on the forum....

I was hunting for some spares when the owner of the scrapyard asked me what im looking for so j told him the guy i bought it from said its a shadowline. He told me that he used to work at bmw Bavaria and to tell if it is a shadowline you must look for all sorts of weight reduced parts... mine has the grey material seats in, window winders, no sunroof, and the most important thing is that it has aluminium doors and bonnet. Im not sure about the wing but one thing im sure of is that you cant buy aluminium bmw doors at autostyle.....

That looks like a chrome bumper car.

THe chrome bumper 320 with cloth seats no electric windows no fog lights and steel rims was the non executive model and had nothing to do with shadowline or performance but more with price and fitting into an "affordability bracket".

It equally does not have aluminium doors or bonnet as that was only done on the 325iS in SA.

What you have is a 320 2 door.
Maybe the seller was overly enthusiastic with his marketing.

Drive it in good health.

Must be said & I stand to be corrected, to my knowlede the Shadowline was a 2 door 325i that came out after the 333i & before 325iS (2.7 motor)

While I understand that you may have gotten a reaction from the OP to warrant your response above. Think of the facts. He posted something assuming he knew what he was saying as a "new user". You respond with a cryptic "What". If you had an bit of compassion as a human or forum user you would have responded educating him if it was so dear to you that he made the wrong assumption....

Hi Shane.

Welcome to the club buddy. You are correct Peter, the car in question is in deed a chrome bumper - I know the car, I'm from the same town:=):. The car has the m20b20 6 cylinder motor and sounds pretty good.

Good luck with your new car and enjoy the journey. These cars are fabulous. Just make sure you always keep it locked in and safe - they are very popular and high on the most wanted list... I had to replace 6 lock sets on mine already.
