BMW E30 318i Manual vs. Auto diff

Hallo again all,

My question:

Are the diff ratios the same on the manual and the auto for the E30 318i?
The reason I am asking is that I converted a 318i auto E30 from Auto to Manual when the gearbox packed up, by swopping out the gearbox and prop shaft for the manual versions.

Where can I look for the info?

Sorry, forgot to mention, it is a 1989 plastic bumper. Can almost apply for "classic/vintage status" :biglol:

I manage to get the rear wheels spinning very easily with the auto diff/manual gearbox combo

Hallo all,

Feedback on the differences between the diffs: it seems like there is no difference between the manual and auto diff on the E30 318i, because the car's revs is the same at all speeds compared to the manual diff. :idea:

I have not checked that yet, but as I said, the engine spins at the same speed in all the gears on the auto to manual converted car, where I only swopped in a manual 'box and pedals, compared to my other 318i which is a factory-built stick shift.

I don't think that is right. So it is possible the diffs you have are the same
