BMW e3 2500 - my first project car

I was looking for a 2002 when a friend called me and said that he could get this for me.at first i asnt really keen but after seeing the car in flesh, i wanted it.

It is a 1975 bmw 2500 automatic with 140 710km original mileage. The car is a one owner car and still has the original windscreen.

The car has been standing in the same spot for the past 10 years and so the condition considering that is good.

My plan is to mainly restore the car and just do a coilover kit or lowering springs and maybe a bbs rs rim or something that will make the car unique.

The car has a little bit of surface rust and 2 pieces of trim are missing. There is a little bit of blue paint messed on the boot and seats, the previous owner said that was when the painters were painting his gate they had messed it and sat in the car.

What a find.
Tell me, where can you source parts for it?
Do agents still stock?
Interested in something similar with not too much work, just to get it in original condition inside out

Thanks bud.

A friend of minw is importing the schmiedmann parts, these parts are for all BMW's and come from Germany.

This same friend also knows a lot of people who can get classic BMW parts and so that is a huge advantage.

If you want when you are ready, just let me know and i will speak to him about whatever parts you need

Great find you have there! My Grandfather had a 2800 in 1971, he had a choice between that and a slightly used Ferrari 365 GTC/4 for close to the same money. Unfortunately practicality won him over... These BMWs were bloody expensive.

Good luck with the restoration, its is going to cost more money and time than you bargain for unfortunately.

BMW stocks/imports everything mechanical and most trim, a bit expensive but there is no duty/shpping/ect like when you import yourself. Go to RealOEM to see the full extent of their parts catalog.

Nice buy there boet, you kept telling me about the 2002 that I was sold on that idea, now you bring this, looks tough but I'm sure you'll get it right soon. When I'm around will give you a call and see it in the flesh. Congrats again boet.

Stunning car. Very rare indeed

I am also currently restoring a 1974 2004 BMW. There is nothing like an old school classic BMW

If you ever decide to sell the hub caps please let me know

Good luck with your project. It's going to be challenging but very rewarding

due to some unforeseen circumstances I did not purchase the car :blueCry:

I will be looking into getting something as a project in the future.
