Hi,

What BMW clubs is there in Durban, surrounding areas and rest of Natal?

We (BMW Clubs Africa) had an official BMW Car Club for Natal which closed down over a year ago. We want to start it up again. The easiest way is to get an existing club that will qualify to be officially part of the BMW umbrella. The club needs a minimum of 25 paid up members. There is a constitution that the club needs to follow as well.

The umbrella is like this...
1) BMW Clubs International Council
2) BMW Clubs Africa
3) BMW Car Club Natal (or KZN or Durban, etc)

For more info please visit our website http://www.bmwclubs-africa.org.za/ or our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BMWClubsAfrica/

This is a brilliant idea and I would definitely be interested. I am currently a member of BMW Car Club Gauteng due to the lack of a KZN club.

Finding 25 paid up members won't be difficult in kzn, getting those members to events is were the challenge will be...

However I am in suppport of this initiative... Keen to see how it unfolds!

It'll work out.

The Gauteng club has about 600 members and Cape Town has about 100 members.

Next we also want to try Bloem and PE.

The Kzn club still exists , as the Dezzi Raceway Club . The members all moved there and are still active .

Good luck to whoever picks up the baton . The previous com hosted epic events (track attacks and autocross) then later Dezzi trackdays .

Is it just BMWs? The old club closed their Facebook page and we removed their website. Please find out if they want to be an official BMW club again

The kzn chapter was never BMW only. If anything their events were more other manufacturers cars than Bmw.

nearly two years old sorry for the revive. Any progress or news on this?

I know, unfortunately there's been a delay with the dealership that is getting involved. The person that we were dealing with at the dealership has left and someone else took it over and has delayed it. We will be discussing it in our AGM next month, to speed it up.
If we can get at least 6 of you to be on the committee it will help speed up the process of restarting the KZN or Durban club. Then we can sort out the dealership/s involvements afterwards... Let me know if 6 of you are keen then we can communicate via email and a whatsapp group

An official BMW club, being part of the BMW umbrella, has many benefits compared to an unofficial club.

I used to be in charge of the WP fanatics events until about 5 years ago, go look in the WC forum section at how often we did events (monthly) back then compared to since

The forum (bmwfanatics) has its own provincial/national calendar and diary of events that includes race days, park offs, breakfast runs and the upcoming "bimmer nights".

These events are regularly posted on this forum's homepage and within the provincial subforums by the responsible provincial event coordinator.

The BMW club initiatives can be found on the bmw clubs africa website or email Grant directly. His contact details are in the posts in this thread.
