want to buy my friends 335i coupe,so decided to go to bmw menlyn this afternoon and find out if they will do finance through bmw,no problem.

so asked if they would buy my 323i e90.

they said they would give me R130000 to R140000 for it,hahahahahaha

its a 2008,with 2 years mp left,76000km ,new tyres and in good condition.with extras on it,xenons, adaptive headlights,cd shuttle and so on.

response was they dont look at the extras, hahahahaha

well when they sell it they are quick to mark the price up with all the extras, and when you buy it new, they charge an arm and a leg for all the extras.

so will be keeping mine for a very looooooooong time, untill it falls apart or dies of rust,or something.so the 335i will have to find another owner

I can get you a better trade in price from a mate of mine, but ya the whole accessories thing pisses me off to no end.

Still not as bad as Audi though, do you know what trade and retail is on the car ?

Hahaha , sorry man , is your e90 an automatic though ? Just curious ? My parents always get rid of the BMW's like that because they see private selling as risky . We got R140 000 in 2009 for our 2006 323i Auto Exclusive with 100k km on the clock .

Thats wierd

I traded in my e90 2006 323i for R145000 3 months ago it had 80k on the clock

You should be getting more than that.

well i counted at least 15 320 i on the floor,so maybe they are battling to move them due to the fact that the new 3 series is on its way, also a 2011 323i,motor sport,no extras for 289000,32000km on the clock

At the end of the day it all about getting a good sales guy that wants to give you a good deal

The thing is if you asking them to buy the car without supporting business they are going to give you nothing for the car but you you buying a new car and its part of a bigger deal then you can push them a bit more

They also talking kak about retail value its not R169000
http://search.autotrader.co.za/www/...y=6&county=7&county=8&submit.x=78&submit.y=13

Also that bull about prices dropping when the new model comes out is rubbish demand for the old ones peaks since the new ones are so expensive which also boosts the price of the old ones. The only thing that goes against your old cars selling price is the second hand market gets flooded when all people flock to go and buy the F30. This all depends on what the price of the F30 is going to be and I don't think its going to be cheap.

the trade prices are really rediculous.. i wanted to change my exclusive for a 320d couple months back,,, with 80k km on and MP til 110k they offered R180k. i had the same response herr, hahahaha. at that time i only had the car for about 3 months and bought it for R230k. i was prepared to take a knock but a R50k loss in 3 months :bs:

same here, bought it in feb, outstanding balance then was R146000.
paid 9 payments so should be about R128000 outstanding,so will break even.but then have to finance R310000,monthly will go up from 2200 to 6500 a month, not really worth it

long live the 323i e90

Now is not the time to sell an E90, now is the time to buy a used E90, simple reality! Once the F30 is out this might settle again (I reckon). Will see...

my sentiments exactly

so i decided instead of losing the 50k, the vrou needs a new car so ill give her the e90 let her drive it till it dont drive no more. and i can take the 50k and buy an e36 328/325 and still have change for mods  its win-win

well my friends wife scored big.
spme rich daddy bought his daughter a 323i lci e90 with all the extras ticked off.from mud flaps to satnav, every little extra that could go was on.

x1 came out 3 months latter,daughter threw a tantrum,wants one,with all bells and whistles,daddy trades in 323i for x1

in steps friends wife and buys it,pay R120000 less for the car,km-1500.

This just goes further to show why it makes no sense to buy a new car :nonono:

Herr you should have expected something like this considering the thing with the navara and BMW.....they want you to pay a premium for every single bit, yet want to give you peanuts for what you have.....just to again sell it at a premium.

for the used e90's yes i agree with you fully. its possible to pick up an e90 with sports/exclusive pack for R150k+ less than the brand new price with about 30k km on it. but what ticks me off is even with the F30 coming out the new vehicle price is still the same, even with all these 'special offers' coming out you dont really win. what is the use of giving me R50k trade assist if you value my car at 50k less :argh:

this is an email i recieved today after an enquiry on a 320d..
