BMW 330d

Hey all diesel fanatics...need some advice on doing software , mileage is high and I'm sceptical about reliability and any risks - Would it be safe to do just software or is a downpipe or de-cat really necessary and what would really be tampered with as when the car is for sale at some point I'd want it to be original . Also is there a lot of smoking if this is done?

De-DPF will keep your turbo cooler than just software!

We've developped a new software package with less smoke for non smokers :joy:

Is it an E46 Auto? If it is keep it stock. If its an E46 Manual or E90 manual or auto the it should be fine as long as you keep to the routine maintenance.

Hi,

My car is currently sitting on close to 180 000km, i have had Xcede Performance Software and X-Flow Downpipe (De-DPF) since the 140 000km mark. I did exhaust not too long ago. The car has received a clean health report from Tune Tech.

To answer your question, yes, it is advisable to do De-DPF (Downpipe) together with software. As, essentially, sw increases increments which creates more heat from the turbo. Hence, having the DPF removed, allows the heat to escape easily.

I know you PM'd me, and i ignored you. I apologize for that. You are most welcome to contact me, i am in GP and willing to take you for a drive and put you in contact with Xcede and X-Flow.

With that, the ultimate choice is yours. There are many tuners on this forum, but personally, i will only use Xcede as there recipe is proven. I might not have all the answers to your questions, but i can assure you Sherwin and Alistair will sort your car out properly.

PM on its way.

Thanks
Arbee

Big up Arbee. Top advice. Detailed and precise. Lovely stuff. Will definitely consider Xcede for my 135.

Hi Zakhir, as you can see everyone recommends downpipe and software. It's a win win and a must.

I'm going to dyno my stock E90 330d tomorrow and do this exact mod to mine. You can see the gains and decide for yourself :)
