He may just get that though.

I too think he is crazy, but a car is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it....

Lovely machine my father owed one of those, till it got stolen from church of all places:censored:

I myself owned a E34 M5 & never understood why people are willing to pay an average three times the price for an IS when it's quite a bit slower:thinking:

That is the same kind price madness we have with the 8-series here in SA :nono: but I guess as long a people are willing to pay so much they will be sold for so much.

Don't get me wrong the 325is is an awesome car, but this one and most other put up for sale are close the the 200k km mark, which is not exactly new, also some owners of these have a tendency to pull them through their asses, spinning etc so you never know what you are getting.

That is also a very big (and very sad :( ) problem of these, as I just love the e30's and still want one of them as well.

Same. Ever think about getting a cheap 318 2-door for a full restoration and upgrade? Recently saw an e30 on Youtube with the M52 motor from a 328i. Seemed like an interesting money pit to have. One day perhaps ...

Not only did I think about doing something like that, but did actually begin with it, got myself a 1984 e30 320i coupe and was planning to put an M54B25 engine in it, but I ended giving the car away as it just needed to much work. So now I still have the engine laying around, maybe one day I will have another go at it.

It's been a long while since I heard the glorious tone of an ORIGINAL 325is - that exhaust note was just

Agreed, one of the best tones out there. A trip to Fordsburg or Lenz over the weekend should sort you out.

Oh that burble on the overun, gives me goosebumps.....

these cars are collectors item and people out there pay good money for mint condition ones and also people pay more for an evo1 and ev0 2. I personaly am on my third iS and once you have this machine you wont want to drive any other but for R 169 000 ITS MADNESS even for an evo 2. A friend of mine bought an evo 2 with 45000km on the clock and that vehicle had been laying in a garage for 6 years and he paid R185 000 which i think is totaly nuts.

One thing im curious about,

How much did a 325is cost when they came out originally?

The iS selling price for the last ones ie. m325is evolution ltd (evo2) was R100 000 and this was in 1991-1992
