bmw 320d crank pulley/dampener bolt

Hi im new to this forum

i have a e46 320d late 1999 model car where by i am in the process of replacing the crank pulley. getting it off was not a ploblem but now i have to touque new bolt.

can anyone help me in telling me how to do this without going to puchasing the special tool from bmw dealer. i have tried to put the car in all gears but the motor still keeps turning(5speed)

I have always removed fly wheel cover, I have a old exhaust valve bent at 90deg. Slot it in one of the bolt holes and the edge of the valve catches on the teeth on the flywheel. Crude but works. Also heard people using a screwdriver to jam the flywheel teeth. Also im lucky to have a 1.2m 1200nm torque wrench.
