Hi
I have a BMW 2002 1971. I am busy with an engine overhaul.
The Engineering shop notified me that I need to find new rocker-shafts and returned the head to me without the rockers fitted. Unitl I find the Rocker shafts and then I will take it back for them to complete the work.
When I got the Cylinder Head back from the engineer I noted that the cam-shaft is very tight and cannot be turned by hand. This explains why my car was always so slow off the line. The cam-shaft is so tight that one can only turn it by using water-pump pliers. It is only tight for certain degrees of the entire rotation.
From my research this indicates that the head is warped. Can anyone please confirm this?
Further, does anyone have a 2-litre head? This head can be bare bones since I already have new guides, stem-seals and valves.
Help with rocker shafts will also be appreciated, but I can this from Ireland Engineering on the web.
Thank you ver much in advance
