discussion Bmw 120i 2009 limp mode

Hi guys. I need some help. I have a 2009 bmw 120i e87. I went to fill up my tank and post that when I started the car, it went into some kind of limp mode whereby it allowed me to Rev up to 3000rpm and only drive to around 40km. All gears selective however no engine noise or rattling. My car has a full exhaust and it drove really quiet. I started it this morning and it ran smoothly. Could it be a solenoid issue on the head ?

Could be many things on the N46 engine... There's no way of telling unless you take it in to get it scanned. You can post the errors here after for further advice.
