Hi there

My wife bought a BMW 118i 2007 with 77 000km on the clock with full service history from the bmw dealership.

What is the service intervals & what needs to be replaced ect.

A service manual would be awesome just to have an idea.

Thanks.

* whoop whoop for my first post

The service intervals on these cars are component/parts based.

You can start by getting a motorplan printout, or you can check the on board computer for your next service more accurately.

below are an average of Service intervals.
Oil - 30,000km or once a year
Micro Filters - 30,000km or once a year
Plugs - 100,000km
Brake fluid - every 24 months
Brakes - 20,000km or driving dependent , I got 30,000km on my old 118i before I changed, the sensors adjust on wear. so for example if you see 5000km to your next change but drive to Durban and back without being too hard on the brakes youl probably still see 5000km or maybe even 6000 if you gentle.

there is no cambelt , and plugs are suppose to last you at least 5 years before being changed.
I use to do normal oil and filter change atleast once a year even though I didn't need to ( I do less than 15,000km) a year
services are pretty reasonable at agents if you out of motorplan except for brakes and tyres which are ridiculously expensive imo.

Switch the car on, in neutral , while idling press the left stork button until you see "service" navigate through the different service intervals using the left stork .
or else just play around with the options on the left stork while car is idling , you'll figure out a few things like changing date and time, resetting trip computer, resetting runflat monitor etc.

Warning light came on tonight, oil level is low. Oil was last changed 7000km ago in Dec 2013.

Should I be worried?

Or just topup with oil? If yes which oil do I use?

Thanks again

Give the Car an oil change bud...

you only gonna need 1 5L gallon of oil, that's 3.9~4.2 for the oil change and enough for various top up's

Shell Ultra fully synthetic, the grey bottle.
Jus pour in a pint or 2 before your next service.

Only found Castrol MAGNATEC 5w40.

Is the Shell a much better oil?
