Eish sorry not nice. To be honest the damage doesn't look that bad. But it doesn't matter that the cars worth more than the market dictates as you can get the same car maybe even a lower mileage car.

Ouch! Doesn't look that bad except for both airbags that popped. Guess that's R30k+.

drivers airbag = 11.5K
passenger airbag = 12k
dash = 16k
left headlight = 8k
windscreen = 3k
kidney grill , right and left = 2.5k
bonnet = 4k
etc etc... plus vat.. = 99k

This is terrible.

That isnt even that much damage.

Surely the guy fixing the car is trying to take you for a ride.

No injuries.... Was not going that fast....pity that the airbags deployed...
im sure if the airbags did not come out the damage would have been far less....

Issue is, under a legal insurance claim, you are not allowed to fit used/secod hand parts to safety systems,

The can fit second hand bonnets ect, bu airbags must be original.

Dash you can get for 2k though if you know how to shop, or even have it repaired...

Sorry to hear! Any case of a car being written off for relatively minor damage - airbags are usually the highest ticket items and often dictate the outcome! :nonono:

soory to hear boet, sure it was not nice. Some places need spares, could also be a reason for cars to be written off.

This really sucks.. We once repaired an E46 M3 that hit a pavement and deployed almost all the bags we replaced the bags with new ones (there's a place somewhere in jozi) and repaired the body and suspension... Never looked like it had a accident. Does the insurance dictate that it be written off when bags deploy or when it does not make financial sense??
