Blue toothing in an X5

Good day,

My boss got himself a nice X5 3.0d I think it is 2011 E70 model. Problem is his cellphone doesn't have contacts on it. All his contacts are on his Exchange or Gmail accounts. Now every time someone calls it shows the name and telephone number but when he tries to call out he does not get any contacts via the A - Z option. I have checked the permissions on Android and Bluetooth and they are all set to allow sharing of contact information.

I added a few contacts to the handset and still it does not pick up the names via the telephone interface on the car.

How do i get about doing this so I can impress him and get a huge raise

You forgot to mention what phone it is. All my contacts are also stored on my Gmail account and my idrive shows them all with no issues

If I remember correct the contacts must be on the phone itself

Contacts must be on the phone. That's how it works with my E60. The car will pull the contact list that's on your device

Strange that my contacts all appear on the telephone dialer screen, every single one of my contacts is stored in Gmail and not locally on the phone

Edit to add : completely forgot, Yusuf updated my Bluetooth module when I first got my car.
