Bilstein B4 Front shocks not fitting E36 328i

Hi Guys,

Recently bought a set of Bilstein B4's front and rear at Goldwagen. Rears fitted.

With the fronts, the top nut didnt have enough thread. Only fitted halfway down the nut once the front mounts were in place.

Had to buy a cheaper set of Gabriels for the fronts. Same as the set that was on the car previously.

Goldwagen says the bilsteins are the correct shock for the car. Fitment centre disagrees.

Ball joints, tie rod ends and sway bar end links need to be replaced.

I plan on lowering the car. Will H&R 60 / 30 springs be too low to work on the existing shocks?

Bilstein does make shocks for that car, very good ones in fact. Either Goldwagen supplied the wrong ones or the front suspension is different to what it was when it left the factory.

This was on the spring compressor...so the shock wasnt even on the car yet..
Saw the springs on Axis website...just have to weigh up which is most important due to budget constraints...as much as I want the car looking low and mean...I also want the handling to be up to scratch..
looks like its on stilts now with the new shocks fitted..
