Best way to get 0-100km/h times in 135i coupe sport auto?

Hi All,

I've just bought an early 2010 135i sport coupe auto (non dct), with paddle shift. I did a couple of 0-100km/h sprints this weekend but the times don't seem that quick when watching the videos- around 5.5 sec- 6 secs. It may just be my driving but I was hoping someone could share the best way to get fastest 0-100km/h times in the auto. The main problem is, that unlike a manual, you can't rev up in first and release your clutch, you basically have a dead start.

Any feedback on best setting (DTC off etc.), how to apply power as well as any other tricks would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I think there are a few other factors to consider as well when trying to achieve those times apart from driving style. You need to consider how much fuel was in the tank when those times were achieved, octane that was used, how many occupants were in the car, weather conditions, altitude, tyres that were used etc...

yip like they say in the N54 thread.

This method is not negatively affecting your brakes, gearbox temperatures will rise slightly, just don`t sit on on the gas and brakes for too long.
De activate DTC
Activate Sport mode.
Apply brake with left foot whilst stationary. Slowly get revs up with right foot to 1600RPM would be a good starting point, let go of brake and floor the gas.
The load RPM is determined by the amount of traction you have. ie tire compound,road surface condition etc. Older tires that been through alot of heat cycles don`t have good traction.

If the car still bogs abit then slowly increase RPM launch. Too high RPM launch will see the rears lighting up. Decrease RPM till you find the sweet spot.
Good luck:=):

Another launch tactic would be deactivate traction fully, sport mode on, then go forward slowly shift to 2nd gear and hold the brake. Increase the rev to about 2000rpm and leave brake when you ready. You will get less wheelspin and you will eliminate a gear change :thumbs:

try using the M power meter available for Apple phones, it incorporates gps and built in g meter to caclulate 0-50, 0-80, 0-100 times as well as standing start over 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000meter distances...

it helps if the tech you using to measure is accurate enough to show the different launch styles and their benefits/losses...
