Best tyres for e46 m3

Falcons are sh!t.
Endless balancing issues and I had a blowout when I approached the limiter on another car also with falcons. No warning, and they appeared to be in good condition just the day before.
In the end, you get what you pay for.

I know the Michelin PSS are bonkers money, and you get embarrassed telling people how much you had to pay for them. But I without a doubt would never put anything else on my 46 at this point in time. They are just in another level.

And on the plus side, they seem to wear really nicely too.

+1 on what calypso said. Michelins are the best wear and performance tyres period.

I had similar quality Bridgestone Potenza's on the 350z. Great grip but wear prematurely.

Like Fordkoppie said, you get what you paid for.

For what it's worth I have Toyo T1 Sport's on the Z4 and so far it holds up well in extreme cornering and speeds :fencelook:

Michelin PS3's i've got the on at the back on my M Coupe and all i can say is raise: raise: raise: i've even forgotten the car does not have traction control :fencelook:

go for toyo if budget is an issue or mich ps3 if budget is not.

I've got Michelins Pilot SS on my CSL as well...wont put any other tyre on it. they cost alot but the grip is amazing.

That is really not that bad. Thought it would be R5000+ per tire. Agree these would be the best on the M3.

Michelin Pilot sport II - Pricey, but when it comes to tyres, fit the best you can afford.
Got them on my 323i e46.

What about Achilles, many people seem to be using these.
I know they are much cheaper than other brands mentioned, I'd just like to get your views?
Oh ya, would it be advisable to put them onto M3?

Skimp on every other accessory on your car but the tyres. Go Michelin if budget allows. Otherwise - Khumo, Federal, Hankook , Falken or Toyo. All have good reviews in the north. Can be a bit sloppy at first bit once run in , as good as Bridgestones

Got Michelin PSS on my M, they just fantastic :thumbs: Better than my OEM PS2s, but just. They not R3500, similarly priced to the PS2. But I think they would increase as they PS2 fades out of production. As the PSS will replace the PS2 over time once the size issues are sorted and approvals from manufactures are done.

Falkens are good but you gotta go with their top of the range flagship performance tyre.The rest are not so grand. In the states they very popular!They only be here in SA for like 3 years so the SA market is still getting use to them.
People rave about the Hankook ventus, I havent had a set but aslo very popular.

Toyos are also VERY good bang for buck.The T1R's. In fact some Porshes come stock with them and yes you can bargain with the guys at Mintys.

I dont like michelins. Had a bad exp with the pilots where I burnt up a rear set in like 10 000km.That just pissed me off.
