Dont tell me this... I played Beta and it was cool, but was hoping November 1st would wait a while as I need to finish some work... and get writing on the new film... and now this happens. Not to mention the ARMA 3 single player campaign went live yesterday... and man its awesome...

Played the Beta, it was awesome! However my poor old GTX460 seemed to take some strain  I think she's nearing retirement age :fencelook:

Really impressed with the scaling they have done on BF4. Performance wise it seems really close to Bf3, maybe even better. My 2 680s are scaling much better than in Bf3(90% apposed to 55%) so might not have to buy that 780. On the gameplay, it seems a lot slower than Bf3 where more of a conservative approach is required. Something that is irking me at the moment is that black screen before spawn which stops quick spawning. No more revive trains which will see a huge change in competitive play.

Vehicle wise:

The little chopper is really manouvarable which is great.
The tanks seem a bit quicker and again with limited shots before reload, another huge change in competitive play.
The LAV or Infantry fighter seems less focused on Armor vs armor and more on an infantry based vehicle. Another change for competitive play.

I'm really hoping BF4 goes 5v5 and not 8v8 as I think it will be a much quicker game and more popular with spectators.

On a side note: One of the local teams has started a petition to bring ESL (Electronic Sports League) to South Africa which would include us in online tournaments with prizes up to $120 000. If you guys have the time please sign the petition. This would mean a great deal towards myself and other gamers wanting to compete against the best in the world.

https://www.change.org/petitions/el...st-for-africa-allowing-for-a-series-za-africa

Surprisingly South Africa hosts one of the biggest Battlefield tournaments in the world, namely the Do Gaming Championship at rAge. Prizes for this year was R20k cash and 8 Alienware pc's.

South Africa did compete in the Nations Cup last year and we placed 4th IIRC. So we have the skill now we just need the backing

u mean Bravado? :fencelook:

how you guys going to get around the clan thing when representing SA? i think there are a lot of guys that missed out for the SA team that should have been there. But then you have to ask yourself the question: would they have struggled in an unfamiliar team environment, and would the clans share tactics for the good of representing SA?

which one do i buy from Origin?

Standard
Digital Deluxe
Premium

:dunno:

Ok answering my own question:

"Here is the break down for this

so options for the Main game
Standard or Deluxe
Deluxe is $10 more it offers a couple extras for that $10

now you have bought one of the above games and the expasions start rolling out you get the first 1 free,
now 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & the 5th one comes out, you do not get free access no matter which of the 2 games you bought from above.
option 1
you buy the expansions likely $15-$20 each time they come out
option 2
buy Premium includes all expansions - for typically less than what the 4 will cost separatly.
on top of the saving you get special perks like more double xp events, extra dog tags, and so on.

So in conclusion if you want the compete game and know you are going to want all expansions
options are
Standard ($60)+ Premium ($50)= $110
Deluxe ($70) + Premium ($50) = $120
above price for PC dowload straight from Origin
going off the Origin Pc download version the Extra $10 gets you 3 Gold Battlepacks & Vehicle Shortcut Bundle for Battlefield 3™ over the Standard editon"

You have to buy both if you want the game and all the cool extra bits.
Deluxe pack is the game.
Premium is the account upgrade.

cool, so you buy standard or deluxe as the base game

and you can buy premium if you are a die hard BF4 junkie

Origin seems more expensive than BT Games

Nick, Awesome to hear! If you need any help with the rules or policies in place by DGL please don't hesitate to pm me. DoGamingLeague

Josh, Most of the South African team was BvD but there were players from NSD and SSG. I have no complaints with them representing as they were the best and there were trials. With regards to the MSSA. Let's just not go there :fencelook: They are very unorganised and their rules are ridiculous at best. Rules including no player may speak about MSSA terms and conditions as they will face a R10 000 fine. Having to thank the MSSA at any interview etc. Games organised against other countries are done without research and organisation. Most teams are just bypassing the MSSA and going overseas without South African representation. E.G. Team Energy ESports just represented themselves and not South Africa at the Electronic Sports World Cup for Dota 2.

Diabolik: The 680 is doing really well in BF4, you will most likely play on ultra fine but have bit of a hassle when buidlings etc are going down next to you.
