Ok so I am pissed off.

Because of this thread decided to go out and get BF 3.

Now I discoverr it will not run on Windows XP and I have to upgrade to Windows 7. For R1200.

So is there a way to make it run on xp Service pack 3???

Or am i doomed to not play it as ther is now way Im spending R1200 to upgrade to 7 when 8,9 and 10 are on the way.

I have never had an issue playing any games until now.

So any help advice or do I return the game???

what pisses me off even more is that Payed for Xp.

1st question is why are you still on XP??

reason being I build my PC while Living In Taiwan a few years ago. Then could only get Xp and even then had to wait a week for english version.

Since being back I have upgraded Mother board Graphics card and odd bits but never had a need to change xp.

You can copy those updates from a friend. Just install the game, then copy his Battlefield 3 directory over yours, overwrite everything, then log back onto Origin, and tell it to repair system files, and walla, you should only need to download 100mb of data as opposed to 10 gigs. I've done this a few times for my buddies.

Update.

Went and got quote to upgrade system to win 7 and also 1 tb HD.

Guy says dont do it now. Windows 8 launching 26 October then do it as there will be around R125 charge to upgrade from 7 to 8.

So quote is R2500 for Win 8, 1 tb HD and also includes them doing back up and restoring all files and programs.

IMO windows 8 is very dodgy, youtube window 8 to see what is looks like.

Looks like xbox live.


Ill stick with 7 ultimate till 8 is stable.
