guys yesterday i noticed a funny rattle/vibration, it i pulled out from a stop street. felt it in 1st gear and then again in 2nd. then i drove a bit slower, but then it happened again later on. it feels like i am driving over those rumble strips.

on my way home i tried to see what could be causing it but cant work it out. it sometimes happens. i can drive flat out and it wont happen but then later i drive flat out and it happend, i can be going along at 60-70 in 3rd and it happens. so its random/ intermittent

feels like its coming from the back of the car. tried looking under the car yest but the siff feels tightly in place, the shockes are tight in place, the side shafts feel tight in place.

What could it be?

thanks

andrew

Propshaft or side shafts?

My mom got stuck next to the road once with no drive. Turns out all the bolts on the one sideshaft worked their way loose, and it fell out.

I am guessing that will just mean $$$$ :bawling:
Guess I will have to have it looked at. And the closest place would be the dealer

Sounds like it coule be drive related, as mentioned, propshaft flex disk (guibo) or centre bearing. Also check your RTAB's and other bushes like diff bushes and subframe bushes.
Best way is to get under the car, maybe take it to a speedy or workshop close by.

If you want i can try have a look see tomorrow?

If it turns out to be drive related id get it fixed asap, i drove with a fukcered guibo for a while, got worse and worse and eventually took out the centre bearing. This was all due to a leaky gearbox seel. 8k to fix, lucky motorplan covered:thumbsup:

A similar problem on 2 different cars that I have driven were caused by a worn propshaft coupling and collapsed gearbox mounts. Each was about R2k to fix.

Hope you didn't fit a non genuine flex disc, heard many bad experiences from people who have. Usually it lasts for a few months then the same symptoms return.

I Hope not :). Got it done by the guy that services my car. So far his work has been great. Dont think he would fit a budget part, if he did and it has same symptoms it will go back and he must fix it
