Auto to Manual

Hi guys

I'll be tackling this swap on my e36 before year end. Will be picking up all the needed parts on Saturday. Already made a deal and the guy(breaker) said I can take all the stuff I need for R4.5k:thumbs:

now, What do I need?

- Gearbox (obviously) is there a specific part number or model to look out for?
- Manual gearbox Cross member
- Slave Cylinder, Master Cylinder...& lines
- Manual Pedal Assy
- Manual shift linkages
- DM Flywheel
- Clutch Kit
- Manual Propshaft
- Manual Diff

Am I missing anything? Any advice tips from the guys who did this before?

Clutch kit complete
Clutch fork
Propshaft (Manual propshafts are longer)
Centre bearing and prop coupling
Clutch Master cylinder
Clutch slave cylinder
Clutch hydraulic lines
Complete selector shaft with all joint and bushings
Set of pedals (clutch and brake pedal)
Gear knob and gear lever boot

Is that quote for a 5 speed or 6 speed?

The auto has a very close ratio diff...3:91 i think...is this usable? freeway driving will probably be a pain but its the silly season and im trying to cut cost where I can :fencelook:

I dont know about the e36, maybe pm gizmo on what transmissions you can use. I know with my 3.0d i can get the gearbox from an e46, e60 and e90 and possibly a X5 (not too sure on that one).

The auto diff is usable and you can always change after if you're not happy with it, maybe once you've sold all the parts you've taken off the e36?
