Hey Guys

Im totally in love with the old Austin Bullnose Mini's. They are pretty hard to find in a good condition. What price range will I be looking at for a car with papers and license as well as a good running condition?

Hi Bud,

In this case, Its worth exactly what the buyer is prepared to pay.

You could find a dog for like 5k, but could pay up to 200k for a clean example if not more.

Logic leaves the room when guys start dealing in cars like this.

As per above but R200K is way to steep.

There are a few 2000 production ones going for just over and close to R100K, but that is just stupid to pay.

Otherwise best place to look is gumtree, there are guys selling cars that they don't know what they are. A good MK1 ( the one with external door hinges and oval tail lights) can fetch up to R40K - R50K, but I have seen running with papers for less than R10K.

Depends on what you are after. There is also a big following and allot of support from MOCSA and our local forum.

Another thing is that you might get one that looks like a dog, but as long as the body is good, smaal work here and there can get you one that doesn't look bad at all.

These cars are so beautiful, but parts as far as I undersrand are hard to source and usually needs to be imported from the UK?

Well not as bad as it sounds. Normal service parts are cheap and can be had localy. In fct a few years back i build a complete motor with new piston and bearngs and everrthing with parts i got localy, all mini parts aswell, no mazda pistons and this and that. And if you have to import, there is almost guys bringing in stuff mounthly for project cars so that is not as bad as if sounds.

All and all, I think it is a very usable and cheap car to start anybody off in any form off motorsport or shows.
