Are there any white X5M's (4.8is) in SA ?

there is a white 4.8 x5 in witbank the X5M is a 4.4 V8 twin turbo..
was the 4.8 considered an M aswell?

I know that the 4.8is engine was developed by alpina, it was supposed to get M status but then BMW decided against it.

i nearly got strapped by that 4.8is it sat right next to me from launch and i only started to pull it in 2nd! they launch like a bat out of hell!

There was no M E53, there was a 4.6is and a 4.8is which where the range toppers.

And yes, you could get both in white.

a mate of mine does photography and at a wedding the wedding car was a 4.8is X5 in white and the owner said that it was the only white one in SA , and i cant see in that there would only be 1 white X5 4.8IS ?

on the same note his uncle bought a a brand new e39 540i manual in red , and apparently there was only 1 manual and 1 auto brought in or built for SA aswell ?

can any one confirm this or blow it out the park. ?

hmm, I think the 4.6 is the alpina engine hey, not the 4.8 ..

LOL no reason i ask (this will be funny if its the same guy) A guy that were with us in london, worked with some of my friends and shared a house with them! HE is also in photography, think his dad has a studio if not mistaken! They had the 1st and best of everything, his gran collected V12 and had the biggest colection in africa, and his dad was one of the only survivors from a green mamba snake atack, luckily they were there with a chopper to fly him to the nearest hospital. and and and.. to many shit stories to mention! LOL will be real funny if this is the same guy!

A buddy of mine has the new X5 3.0L twin turbo diesel! and wow what an machine! i think it might give the 4.8is carrots! 210kw and 580nm.. unbelievable the power delivery on that thing! can just imagine the 335D..
