Hi all,

Im looking to replace the cracked Fog lamps and bumper park lights on my Z3. Cant find any local suppliers, other than BMW themselves.

Does anyone know of any suppliers who stock non-OEM Z3 parts ?
Ive tried ebay as well - most sellers dont ship to RSA.

Thanks in advance,

Hey there,

I've recently ordered and received parts from Denmark.
Difference between the Stealer and them is about 10 times.. Minus shipment and customs...
Try them www.schmiedmann.com

I've got from them engel eyes front optics..:)

Dont think anyone in SA has them. :biglol:

One of the 5-series used the same spots as the Z3. I got a like new replacement from a scrapyrd in Hermanstad, Pta.

CR auto dealers(012-327 4679) in PTA-west have repalcement sets, only difference glass is not clear as standard on the Z3

So I managed to find some affordable replacement bumper markers - GBP27 with reshipping via Postbox-courier. If anyone is looking for a pair for replacement park lights for < R400 I would recommend these. (OEM is > R1000 ea. from the stealers)

Here is a pic of the replacement next to the original :

Some observations :
The replacement is made of clear plastic, as opposed to the slight grey tint of the OEM. That, combined with a different refractor pattern makes the unit much brighter. Fitted, I think it looks more modern.

From the top view, you can see that the lense of replacement will fit completely flush against the bumper whereas the OEM lens protrudes out a little. I think I like the flush fit.

In terms of quality, the finish looks good enough, though it feels much lighter that the OEM - possibly hinting at the strength of the plastic. The unit itself is a straight swap, however the shape of the metal spring differs from the OEM. As a result, it does not mount in the same manner as the OEM. It does mount securely enough with some 'massaging' of the springs - so no concerns about it coming loose later.

Now for the the fitted pics :

The seller describers them as indicators, but these are definitely park lights.

Both my foglights cracked a month or so ago.

E39 used the same fog lights as the Z3.

check out the Autostyle website. I got a set of lenses for +-R200 on the site.

Wasn't too bad replacing them. Bit of a mission getting the old lens removed, easier if it is slightly broken already. Next time I'll heat it to make it go easier.

They are as rare as the hardtops ? Been contemplating looking for a z3 for sale with a hard top going to him and offering him 15k for the top and mountings so he can drop his price on his car to get it sold faster ? Where are you based ? been looking for Z3 owners for a meetup ?
