Any overheating issues with aftermarket amps?

Hi,

I'm considering upgrading the OEM audio in my z3.
The one thing that concerns me is potential overheating if the amp is mounted in the boot. The z3 boot is pretty small, and summer temps don't help.

I'd like to hear from others who have gone down this route what their experience has been.

Anyone having overheating issues?
What power ratings are involved?

as long as you install any amp correctly and do not overdraw on power it should be fine, they are made to be in cars that heat up.

My 2cents...
i've installed an aftermarket amp in my e46 & have mounted it in the same location as where the Factory amp was (small & not very ventilated area) and till date have had no issues whatsoever...so im sure yours if mounted in the boot wouldnt be an issue.
