Any known issues with N55 135i?

Hi Fanatics

As some of you might have been following lately, a few 135i owners were experiencing idling issues with their cars. https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=61348

I was one of them. Car was booked in last week and I collected it on Friday after them first saying the idle was too low and increasing it:RedNo: When that didn't help, I suggested a DME update. I collected the car on Friday afternoon and the problem seems to have mostly gone away. The "hunting" is very minimal and infrequent (I can sort of live with it) however since Friday I have noticed something different.

You know when you unlock your car after its been parked for a few hour or overnight, there's a pump that makes a noise for a couple of seconds? It's near the back driver's side? Fuel pump? Anyway, since collecting the car, this sound goes on for about 5 seconds longer now and its a bit more louder. Can someone shed some light on this please? I don't know much about these cars.

Thanks in advance:ty:

Is it noisy with the aircon on then goes away if you turn it off...

Not certain but my car started this then later the water pump went.

No no, this sound is present before you even open the door.

Its the LPFP priming the fuel system when the car has been opened. it was a fix that bmw had implemented on the N54 to try and combat the HPFP failure saga...

there is nothing to be alarmed at...

My N54 does this, I thought it was odd but JSN explained :clapper:

So the fact that the sound is a few seconds longer now after the DME update is nothing to be worried about?

Thanks Kish:ty:

Only problems with 135 you will experience:
You get pulled over for cool drink money
Your rear tyres melt like ice cream on tarmac
And the fuel consumption is a tad bit higher...but jb4 sorts this out...
Awesome car..fun to drive and congratulations
