If you guys want track time, the Next Gymkhana/Trackday at Scribante is in August, they always take place on a Subday. I'll be taking part in my e36 328i Track Car, would be cool to get more guys to join, the last event was 2 weeks ago, we had 22 entrants, you need a roadworthy car and a helmet to enter, sign an MSA indemnity and pay R250 for your first event, R150 thereafter. It's great fun with a good group of guys. Check
www.amsc.co.za for more details and the events calendar.
These gymkhana trackdays are there for that purpose only though, I'd suggest if we are to arrange some sort of a Fanatics meet that's cool, but not sure if the Trackday will be it, reason being you'll have lots of people taking part, and other guys with race cars as well as bikes lining up for laps later in the afternoon as they have times set out for bikes to go out then cars etc... so the pit areas will be filled with participants, their vehicles, trailers etc...
Unfortunately from past experiences at events for the track things have gotten out of hand with people who have nothing to do with the racing putting picnic blankets down for their kids in the pitlane to others racing the wrong way up the pitlane. For this reason the trackdays are managed strictly like race events with speed limits and rules set in and around the pits and the track, however spectators are always welcome if not taking part, but when spectators start spinning and having soundoffs etc then it becomes an issue.
Having said all that, I could still send a mail through to the officials to get their thoughts on the idea.
